How it works

The planner starts from your CELPIP levels in the calculator. For each skill it looks up the CRS points for your first official language at your level now and at the target, and shows the difference. Skills already at or above the target keep their level, and IRCC counts CLB 10 and above as 10+, so aiming past CLB 10 adds no language points.

Questions

What CELPIP score do I need for Express Entry?
It depends on your program and the rest of your profile, so check IRCC's official tools or a licensed representative. This planner shows how many CRS language points each target level is worth, so you can see where more practice pays off.
Why aim for CLB 9?
For a single applicant, each skill earns 23 points at CLB 8 and 31 at CLB 9, one of the biggest steps in the table. Moving all 4 skills from CLB 8 to 9 adds 32 points.
Do I earn more points above CLB 10?
No. IRCC counts CLB 10 and above as 10+, so CELPIP 11 and 12 earn the same language points as CELPIP 10.
